Using a "thinking outside the box" approach to kernel processing led DFE engineers to develop a kernel
processor with two different roll diameters. The top roll is 6" diameter and the bottom roll is 10" diameter. Drive pulleys of the same diameter turning at 4700 RPM generate a surface speed differential of 60%. What does this mean to you, the end user?... It means that most of the processing is done by a shearing action as opposed to using extreme pressure to crush the crop. This results in minimal vibrationsm longer and trouble free bearing life and most of all, no loss of capacity through the rolls.
