Dion F-41 Forage Harvester
The secret behind the F-41's incredible appetite is it's "straight through" design. All crop entering the harvester is cut, processed and blown all in a direct line, which improves harvesting capacity while slashing energy consumption. The "straight through" concept ensures a smooth, uninterrupted material flow that will deliver even the mist stubborn haylage or silage directly to the back of your wagon. This concept is already widespread in the self-propelled forage harvesting industry.
Using a "thinking outside the box" approach to kernel processing led DFE engineers to develop a kernel
processor with two different roll diameters. The top roll is 6" diameter and the bottom roll is 10" diameter. Drive pulleys of the same diameter turning at 4700 RPM generate a surface speed differential of 60%. What does this mean to you, the end user?... It means that most of the processing is done by a shearing action as opposed to using extreme pressure to crush the crop. This results in minimal vibrationsm longer and trouble free bearing life and most of all, no loss of capacity through the rolls.
