The "straight through" concept ensures a smooth, uninterrupted material flow that will deliver even the mist stubborn haylage or silage directly to the back of your wagon. This concept is already widespread in the self-propelled forage harvesting industry.
Using a "thinking outside the box" approach to kernel processing led DFE engineers to develop a kernel processor with two different roll diameters. The top roll is 6" diameter and the bottom roll is 10" diameter. Drive pulleys of the same diameter turning at 4700 RPM generate a surface speed differential of 60%. What does this mean to you, the end user?... It means that most of the processing is done by a shearing action as opposed to using extreme pressure to crush the crop. This results in minimal vibrationsm longer and trouble free bearing life and most of all, no loss of capacity through the rolls.

Cutterhead
The cutterhead is a massive 24" wide by 22" diameter. This mammoth 450 lb cutterhead features full width, 5/8" thick, 2-1/2" wide, solid steel knife supports to securely fasten the 12 full width tungsten carbide edged knives. Normally, standard knives develop a thicker cutting edge in time. These specially designed Dion knives, which promote ideal knife-to-shearbar angle for optimal cutting efficiency, retain their fine edge after repeated sharpening.
Two Row Corn Attachment
The model F-60-4102 two row corn attachment features row spacing from 28" to 36". Both corn heads come with gathering chains which grab the stalk before they're cut and don't let go even in the wettest conditions. No need to be a contortionist here, all grease points on Dion corn heads are easily located and identified inside one convenient access guard.

Windrow Attachment
The model F42-4184 windrows attachment has a pickup width of 104" with an effective pickup width of 84". Dion's high performance hay head comes standard with a slip clutch which reduces time in the even of an overload. This high performance head offers a 4 bar spring-tooth pickup with 26 tines per bar, adjustable gauge wheels, adjustable skid shoes and a floating auger that is reversible.
